"The event of March 21 (UNESCO
WORLD POETRY DAY), at the seat of the Italian
Institute of Culture in New York - that has
had an organizing result and participation
beyond all expectations - has represented
for the Centre of Studies “Bosio”
and for the Nosside International Poetry Prize
a goal of exceptional relief, a mile stone
in the history of the Project ".
With these words Claudio Angelini,
a great name of the TV journalism and a poet
of exquisite sensibility, awarded with Nosside
Lifetime Achievement Prize in the written
poetry field, has concluded the wonderful
event that has definitively consecrated Nosside
of Reggio Calabria (Italy) as only global
poetry contest in the world.
This recognition has been as an echo to the
considerations of founder President of “Bosio”
and of the Nosside Prize, Pasquale Amato,
a global historian and lecturer of History
at the University of Messina as well as Co-coordinator
of the " UNO New York " Project:
" I am certain - he has underlined
- this March 21 in the City of the Great
Apple, city - world of our time, according
to the thesis of the great historian Braudel,
has marked the start of a new phase in the
Nosside way to the world literary Prizes panorama.
This afternoon, dense of emotions - emphasized
Amato - reinforced the double identity
of intense ideal value of the Project: the
opening to all the languages of the world,
with a particular attention to the minority
ones and those of the native people; and the
multimedia that allows the participation at
the contest with written, video and musical
poetries .
The participation at the event of students
of the Universities of Messina, Naples and
Milan as well as students of other Universities
of the world, delegates at the NMUN, UNO simulation
Project, has exalted – sustained President
Amato - the universal message of peace, of
reciprocal respect and of equal dignity between
cultures, ethnic groups and different languages
of Nosside ".
The meeting has been opened by Claudio Angelini
in the Director's quality of the Institute
in the presence of Consul general of Italy
Antonio Bandini and of personalities
of the Italian and US culture and literature.
A strong nucleus of journalists between whose

were presented at the event.
Apart from the wide representation of students,
delegates at UNO, the managers of partner
Associations of Universities of Catania and

President Amato has illustrated the
salient characters of XXIII Nosside Prize,
assisted by the English version of the University
of Messina students: Tatiana Vavachin (Head
Delegate of Messina’s delegation at
UNO as well as Co-ordinator of the Anglophone
Area of Nosside) and Federica Violi (Delegate).
The reading (in Italian by
Silvia Giampaola, Responsible for the Artistic
Activities of the Institute, and by Tatiana
Vavachin in English ) of the refined poem

have happily concluded the relation of Amato
as well as have testified the multimedia of
the Prize.
The “Princes of Silence”
song - which video is being
successful in the You Tube website
– represents an appeal to the “powerful”
of the world in order for them
to face "not with words thrown to the
wind " the drama of the million
children in the streets who
live on wits at the edges of rich cities.
The third part of the Event
has been dedicated to the reintroduction
of an idea that had been carried
out in the Nineties: Nosside Lifetime
Achievement Prize, assigned
annually to three international personalities
in the written, musical and video poetry fields.
The Nosside Lifetime Achievement
Prize in the written poetry field
was assigned to Silva Kaputikyan
(Armenia) in 1989, Miquel Martí i Pol
(Spain) in 1991 and Bella Achmadulina (Russia)
in 1992. In New
York, the Nosside Lifetime Achievement Prize
has retaken his way with the awarding of the
Prize to Claudio Angelini, "a
poet of exquisite sensibility, highly esteemed
and appreciate by the Nobel Prize Winner Salvatore
Quasimodo and by other personalities of poetry
world such as Mario Luzi and Jorge Luis Borgés
".
After the awarding of the precious Nosside
Plaque, the Unesco Poetry Day
has been extolled by the reading
(in Italian by Silvia Giampaola
and in English by Tatiana Vavachin
and Federica Violi) of three
wonderful poetries of Claudio Angelini: -
Correspondent’s day outcome - my
Lord - If God is a poet.
Reading two of its poems dedicated
to the poetry and praising the participation
of so many youth at the meeting, Claudio
Angelini has concluded the historical event.
