Nosside International is the only global poetry
contest for unpublished works, multilingual
and multimedia, organized by the Centro Studi
Bosio of Reggio Calabria (www.nosside.com).
It is dedicated to Nosside, the female poet
of Occident Greeks that lived in Locri in
the III century B.C; its logo, inspired by
the Ancient Greek Civilization, is a work
by Umberto Boccioni, the supreme futurist
master of Reggio Calabria; the silver Plaque
given to the Overall Winner represents a precious
elaboration of Boccioni’s logo, handmade
by the goldsmith Gerardo Sacco from Crotone.
From 2005 it has been carried out under the
supervision of UNESCO, which included the
Nosside Prize in the Unesco World Poetry Directory
and nominated the “Bosio” as one
of three Italian members of Unesco’s
Global Alliance for Cultural Diversity. And
it has been ranked by the Wikipedia Encyclopedia
among the 5 Major International Poetry Awards.
Nosside has five official languages (Italian,
English, Spanish, French and Portuguese) and
it is open to all the other languages (be
they official, native or minority languages,
regional idioms and dialects) and to all the
forms of expression (written poetry, video
and musical poetries). To apply you should
submit three written poems and/or one video
poem and/or one musical poem by 31 May 2007.
The Jury will be appointed after the application
deadline. The international Jury will receive
the poems marked by numbers in order to guarantee
a complete transparency during the judging
process. The Jury will select five Winners,
Five Special Mentions and 10 or more Mentions,
as well as other entries could be short-listed.
Among the 5 Winners the Chairmanship will
choose the overall winner, who will receive
2.000 €uro, the Nosside silver Plaque
by Umberto Boccioni handmade by the Goldsmith
Gerardo Sacco and the publication of three
poems in the 2007 Nosside Prize Anthology.
The Anthology, prepared by the Centre of Studies
‘Bosio”, will be published by
the “Citta’del Sole” Edition
of Reggio Calabria. The Anthology will also
include one work of each Winner, Special Mentioned

be given 400 €uro and the Nosside Plaque.
Thanks to the partnership agreement stipulated
with CinemAvvenire Association (founded by
